Be part of the crew and join us for a unique Fishing Experience on the Commercial Fishing Vessel TEQUILA, while taking in the spectacular surroundings of the Roaring 40s.
We will demonstrate how to prepare, set and retrieve Cod Pots and how to process the Catch once landed (i.e. sorting, ikiing, filleting).
Using traditional Hand Lines, you will be able to catch your own Blue Cod to take home.
The F.V. Tequila departs Halfmoon Bay in the mornings and afternoons for a 4 hours long fishing trip with wet weather gear, gumboots and hand lines provided.
There is a great variety of Sea- and Wildlife living in and around the waters of Stewart Island. If you see anything interesting during the trip, please ask to stop and we can have a closer look.
The wooden F.V Tequila is 37 ft (11.38 m) long, built by Miller & Tunnage in Dunedin and launched in 1992. It is surveyed to carry 7 passengers plus 2 crew. Skipper Anthony has extensive local knowledge and over 25 years experience in commercial fishing.
Fishing Vessel Tequila is also available for Custom Charters (i.e. hunting, diving or fishing parties and scenic or Paterson Inlet barbeque cruises).
