Enjoy the arrival of seven yachts, due end February for a week or two of R&R at the end of the gruelling Leg 2 of the SSANZ Round NZ Yacht Race!

The Race: two-man co-skippers will sail seven yachts – Krakatoa, Coppelia, Arbitare, Katana, Titanium, Gale Force and Motorboat 11 – around NZ.  Leg 1 leaves Auckland 16 February bound for Mangonui.  ETA 17 February, subject to weather, etc.  Depart Mangonui on Leg 2 (estimated at) 18 February.  But this is round NZ – so instead of nipping down the east coast, these madmen will sail north, around North Cape and down the entire west coast of the country, round the south coast through Foveaux Strait to Stewart Island.  They are allowing an estimated 6-10 days for this Leg 2, it’s impossible to gauge what will happen during the following week, or how yachts and skippers will cope with it all.  The two-man (and woman!) crews will be at Stewart Island for approximately 3-5 days – but who knows exactly how long they will be here.  They estimate they will leave Saturday 2nd March and we hope to mount a big Farewell for them as they set off on Leg 3 to Napier.
